Dominican Republic’s Carlos Adames, the WBC middleweight champion, will step into the ring for his Zuffa Boxing debut on 14 November in Saudi Arabia, facing Welsh middleweight boxer Gerome Warburton in a 165-pound catch-weight bout.
The fight represents a significant milestone as part of Zuffa Boxing’s inaugural event in the Middle Eastern region, taking place in Riyadh. Despite Adames’ championship pedigree, his WBC belt will not be on the line in this non-title affair, allowing the Dominican champion to compete at the agreed catch-weight rather than his traditional middleweight division.
Warburton, bringing his experience from the Welsh boxing ranks, will present a stern test for Adames as the promotion establishes its presence in Saudi Arabia. The pairing showcases Zuffa Boxing’s ambitions to attract elite talent to its foundation event in the kingdom.
