Somerset stars shine as Overton and Luff claim PCA Player of the Year honours

Somerset enjoyed a night of recognition at the Professional Cricketers’ Association awards, with Craig Overton claiming the Men’s Player of the Year accolade and Sophie Luff becoming the inaugural Women’s Player of the Year.

Overton’s selection represents a significant honour from the playing community, with the Somerset performer expressing his gratitude for the recognition. “It’s a phenomenal feeling, to be chosen by your peers to win this award is very special, it means so much to me,” he said following the announcement.

Luff’s historic win as the first recipient of the women’s award caps a remarkable individual campaign. The Somerset batter amassed over 1,000 runs across formats during the season, establishing herself as a key player for both club and country.
