McIntosh Shatters Historic 200m Butterfly Record at Pan Pacific Trials

Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh broke the women’s 200m butterfly world record at the Canadian trials for the Pan Pacific Championships in Montreal. The 19-year-old, who previously won three gold medals at the 2024 Olympics, set a new time of 2:01.65, surpassing Liu Zige’s 2009 record. McIntosh expressed shock and excitement at achieving the feat, calling it ‘really special’ in front of a home crowd.
