Saffie Osborne made history by becoming the first woman to win one of British flat racing’s five Classics, taking the St Leger on Highwayman. The 24‑year‑old rode an 11‑1 outsider to a clear victory, giving trainer Joseph O’Brien his second St Leger win, while Aidan O’Brien missed a fourth consecutive triumph.
