John McEnroe

Former Team World captain John McEnroe revealed his all‑time Laver Cup line‑ups for both Team Europe and Team World on a podcast. He selected legends such as Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and others for Europe, and Sampras, Agassi, Connors and himself for World, while noting that Carlos Alcaraz would have been a strong alternate. The interview highlights his reflections on tennis history and the evolving balance between European and non‑European players.

Former world No.1 John McEnroe urged tennis authorities to change the serve‑toss rule after Alexander Zverev’s habit of bouncing the ball thousands of times during his US Open matches drew criticism. McEnroe, echoing a similar suggestion from Andy Roddick, argued that a missed toss should be counted as a fault, aiming to speed up play and eliminate repeated do‑overs.
