Liebmann and Douglass Shatter World Records on Historic Day for Swimming
German teenager Johannes Liebmann set a new men’s 1500m freestyle world record at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris, finishing in 14:26.79. On the same day, American swimmer Kate Douglass reclaimed the women’s 50m freestyle world record with a time of 23.49 seconds at the Pan Pacific Championships in California.
