EBU Introduces Guidelines to Combat Sexualization of Female Athletes in Live Coverage

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has introduced guidelines to ensure respectful camera angles during female athletics coverage, following concerns raised by athletes like Holly Bradshaw and Ivana Spanovic. The guidelines aim to prevent sexualization through inappropriate angles, low-angle shots, and excessive slow-motion replays. The BBC, an EBU partner, may implement these rules during the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
