Crystal Palace are in negotiations with Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is currently training with the club and was named as a substitute in a pre‑season friendly. The talks revolve around a permanent deal on a free transfer, with manager Pierre Sage considering him as a left‑side centre‑back option for next season.

Crystal Palace appointed Pierre Sage as their head coach on a three-year contract. Sage joins from Lens, where he was manager for 12 months and led them to a second-placed finish in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. He replaces Oliver Glasner, who left the club after two and a half years in charge.
