Crystal Palace Appoint Pierre Sage as Head Coach on Three-Year Deal

Crystal Palace have secured Pierre Sage as their new head coach on a three-year contract, bringing an ambitious European manager to Selhurst Park following the departure of Oliver Glasner.

Sage arrives at the Premier League club fresh from a successful spell with RC Lens in France, where he spent 12 months as manager and guided the club to a second-placed finish in Ligue 1 alongside a Coupe de France run. The appointment represents a significant moment for the south London side as they look to build on recent momentum.

The 45-year-old replaces Glasner, who departed after two and a half years in charge, during which he oversaw considerable progress at the club. Speaking on his new role, Sage expressed his determination to maintain the winning trajectory established by his predecessor.

A Winning Mindset

“Oliver Glasner achieved some amazing things, and now I have to do the same,” Sage said. “That’s why we come here with a lot of ambition. The dynamic here is really positive, and we are in this mindset too. We won last year – and we want to continue in this way, in a new club, a new project, but with a lot of winning habits.”

Sage’s appointment includes support from his staff, with Jamal Alioui joining as an assistant coach to help implement his vision at the club. The managerial appointment concludes a significant transition period for Crystal Palace as they prepare for their next campaign under fresh tactical direction.
