Great Britain’s men’s gymnastics team finished fourth in the team final at the 2026 Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, missing out on the automatic early qualification that comes with a top-three placement for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The squad, comprising Courtney Tulloch, Joe Fraser, Jake Jarman, Harry Hepworth, and Reuben Ward, delivered a competitive performance but ultimately fell short of the podium positions needed to secure their place in Los Angeles through the traditional qualification pathway.
A Capable Unit
Despite the disappointment, team member Joe Fraser expressed confidence in the collective abilities of the group. “I think collectively, as a team, we can look at the overall of the team final and know that we are definitely amongst the best in the world, and we can compete with the best in the world,” Fraser stated, acknowledging the caliber of their performance even in defeat.
Second Chance Awaits
The Rotterdam result does not close the door on Olympic qualification for the British team. By finishing outside the top three, they have secured a second opportunity to qualify at the 2027 World Championships in Chengdu, where another strong showing could still earn them an early berth to the Los Angeles Games.
