Manchester Storm were forced to cancel their Challenge Cup match against Nottingham Panthers after a technical problem with the ice surface at the AO Arena emerged before the fixture could take place.
The club announced the suspension shortly before a revised kickoff time was due to commence. “Unfortunately today’s Manchester Storm game has been suspended due to a technical issue with the ice,” the club stated.
Rescheduled Date Confirmed
Ticket holders for the cancelled encounter have been advised to keep hold of their tickets, as the fixture will be rescheduled for 14 October. This approach allows supporters who had planned to attend the original date to seamlessly transition their admission to the postponed match without requiring new tickets.
The technical issue proved significant enough that Manchester Storm and the AO Arena management determined the ice surface was not safe or suitable for competitive play, necessitating the full cancellation rather than a delayed start to proceedings.
