Katherine Sciver-Brunt has stepped back into professional cricket following her 2023 retirement, accepting an appointment as assistant coach of Trent Rockets Women for the upcoming 2026 The Hundred season.
The 41-year-old former England bowler brings extensive experience to the role, having spent a distinguished career representing her country at the highest level. Her appointment comes after a three-year break from competitive cricket during which she reassessed her life away from the sport.
Return to the Game
“The time has come for me to step back into a role within cricket,” Sciver-Brunt explained. “I’ve had a wild three years since retiring, trying to figure out what life looks like for me now as a mum.”
Sciver-Brunt joins a coaching structure that includes Graeme White in a fielding coach capacity. The Trent Rockets Women’s coaching team operates alongside their men’s counterpart, which features Peter Moores as head coach with Anton Roux serving as his assistant.
Building the Coaching Structure
Chris Read holds the position of head coach for the Trent Rockets Women, leading the overall direction of the franchise ahead of the 2026 tournament. The appointment of Sciver-Brunt alongside White and Read’s established leadership demonstrates the franchise’s commitment to developing competitive depth across their coaching personnel.
