Great Britain has made a commanding statement at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Oklahoma City, securing third place on the medal table with an impressive haul of six medals across multiple disciplines.
The standout performance came from Joe Clarke, who claimed gold in men’s kayak cross, establishing himself as a dominant force in the discipline. His triumph underscored the depth of British talent competing at the world stage, where the team faced off against the globe’s elite canoe slalom athletes.
Multiple Medals Showcase British Strength
The medal collection extended across both kayak and canoe competitions. Adam Burgess delivered a strong performance to secure silver in men’s canoe, while the kayak cross events produced a trio of bronze medals. Sam Leaver earned bronze in kayak cross in what marked his first senior medal, signalling the emergence of promising talent within the British ranks. Lois Leaver matched her teammate’s achievement with bronze in women’s kayak cross, while Kimberley Woods captured bronze in women’s kayak, rounding out the medal sweep.
