Officials with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) made the decision to move the match, citing player safety as the paramount concern. According to LFP officials, the pitch condition “did not allow the match to be played under satisfactory conditions, particularly with regard to the safety and physical integrity of the players.”
Pitch Replacement Underway
The damage to the Parc des Princes turf forced PSG into emergency action. The club will completely replace the pitch before hosting their next home fixture against Monaco on 4 September, giving grounds staff a narrow window to restore the stadium to playable condition.
