Wrexham have secured an invitation to return to the United States for an ambitious pre-season tour that will pit them against three Premier League sides in successive matches across major American cities.
The Welsh club will face Leeds United in Tampa, followed by Liverpool in New York and Sunderland in Philadelphia as part of their preparations for the upcoming season in the Championship.
Manager Phil Parkinson expressed his satisfaction with the fixture list, emphasizing the significance of facing established top-flight opposition in such high-profile venues. “It’s a real privilege for us to be invited back there and attract the games and to be invited to play three Premier League clubs,” Parkinson said.
Building on Previous Success
The tour represents a continuation of Wrexham’s strategy of using overseas pre-season fixtures to build squad cohesion and test themselves against elite competition. The club’s return to the United States comes after previous successful tours that have helped establish their profile on the international stage.
Co-owner Rob Mac and the club’s playing squad, including forward Ryan Hardie and players Elliot Lee and Ryan Longman, will travel across the eastern seaboard for the fixture schedule.
